Jalen Ngonda

Jalen Ngonda is a soul artist who blends classic influences from the 1950s and 1960s with a modern approach, positioning himself as both a continuation of the tradition and a creator of a fresh sound within the genre.

 

After several years of rapid career growth — from small clubs to major festivals and stages around the world — he releases his second album Doctrine Of Love, further establishing himself as one of the most compelling contemporary soul voices.

 

The record is a refined mix of vintage soul and modern sensibility, featuring his distinctive falsetto, rich arrangements, and a strong emotional core. It includes both upbeat, danceable tracks and more introspective love ballads.

 

Born and raised in Maryland, Ngonda developed a passion for soul music at an early age. A self-taught musician, he began by playing in church, later studied at LIPA in Liverpool, and went on to build his career in London.

In 2022, he signed with Daptone Records, and his debut album Come Around And Love Me (2023) brought him international recognition.

 

He is also known for his distinctive retro style and stage presence. He has performed at major festivals (including Glastonbury) and collaborated with artists such as Gorillaz and Jordan Rakei.

On stage, he combines the roles of singer, musician, and performer, and 2026 sees him stepping into major festival headlining slots.
