Three minutes were enough to leave all of Europe breathless. Three minutes that changed everything: with his extraordinary voice, 25-year-old countertenor JJ brought the Eurovision Song Contest back to Austria in 2025 for the first time in ten years.

Overnight, he became known across Europe as an artist who merges classical music and pop into a distinctive, contemporary sound.

JJ is a true exception. With a voice that moves effortlessly between vulnerable intimacy and dramatic intensity, he transcends genre boundaries and creates sonic worlds where opera and pop amplify one another. His Eurovision-winning song Wasted Love became an emotional anthem and an expression of his artistic philosophy: “Love is never wasted.”

Born in Vienna in 2001, raised in Dubai, and later returning to Austria, JJ’s life story is as international as his music. Since 2022, he has been part of the Vienna State Opera, where he has impressed audiences in productions such as Von der Liebe Tod, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and Vollmer’s Tschick. At the same time, he reached a wider audience beyond the classical world through appearances on The Voice UK (2020) and as a finalist on Starmania21 (2021).

With his released songs Wasted Love, Back To Forgetting, Haunting Me, Shapeshifter, and Ballerina, JJ has continuously refined his unmistakable style and established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting new voices.

On May 14, 2026, JJ will release his debut EP Into the Unknown. Alongside his previous releases, it will also feature the new track Unknown, which will have its world premiere during the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The EP marks another major step in JJ’s artistic journey, showcasing the full range of his sound - blending drama, modern pop production and his unique countertenor voice.

JJ has already proven himself to be a captivating live performer: his first headline shows in Graz and Vienna both sold out completely. In September and October 2026, JJ will embark on his first major European tour, bringing his music to cities across the continent.

JJ is not an artist made for the background. He is an experience. An artist with vision, depth, and the rare ability to move and captivate people at the same time. Europe has already taken him to heart. Now, the real journey begins.
